Description

Global Financial Services firm is seeking a NY based Salesforce.com Senior Developer to assist in the technical conversion of a worldwide implementation of Siebel to the Salesforce.com platform. The incumbent will work with a highly motivated team of technical and business professionals in building out the Salesforce.com solution to support several thousand sales associates globally. Responsibilities include active participation in the project workstreams which include security models, integration streams, reporting, business intelligence, document management, and mobile access, among others. We're looking for a talented developer with an extensive Salesforce.com background and a track record of successful accomplishments. The ideal candidate will be an experienced developer looking to grow into an architect role.

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience with Salesforce.com implementations in a financial services company is desired but not a must.
  • Must have more than three years of Salesforce development experience.
  • Exceptional communications skills. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer capable of analyzing the requirements, suggesting solutions, and prototyping them.
  • Enterprise level implementation experience desired but not a must.
  • Customer relationship management experience (sales, marketing and/or service).
  • Salesforce.com Sales Cloud implementation experience desired but not a must.
  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.com platform out-of-the-box functionality along with APEX, Visual Force, Salesforce APIs, and SOQL.
  • Proven skills in large scale deployments using Force.com IDE, migration and go-live activities
  • Experience with Oracle-Siebel is a plus.
  • Ability to follow an agile or iterative software development methodology and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle: analysis, design, development, testing, and production support.


What you'll do

  • Work with the line of business, professional consultants, and multi-shore technical teams to create unique customer solutions leveraging the full power of the Salesforce.com platform.
  • Document requirements and specifications for custom components and interfaces, design solutions in accordance to best practices, and work with other developers through the build, test and deployment of the solution.
  • Interact with the sales and project teams to help correctly scope new development work.
  • Function as part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering customer requirements on time and within budget.
  • Design and document technical solutions that are modifiable, dependable and scalable.
  • Advise on architectural decisions around the Salesforce.com and Informatica platforms, including other supporting technologies.
  • Facilitate client facing technical communication throughout the project to ensure accurate solution design.
  • Evaluate projects from a technical perspective ensuring appropriate development decisions are executed.
  • Mentor junior Salesforce.com developers.
  • Conduct technical process reviews, UAT and work in partnership with the business consultants.


The job holder leads the overall design and oversees the development of cross-functional, multi-platform applications systems. S/he develops application architecture and blueprints and defines application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools. S/he also provides technical guidance to application development teams, consults on integration and conversion issues and participates in mapping technology-independent applications architecture to the chosen technology platform.

Global Strategic Sales is replacing the Siebel Sales Force Automation application with Salesforce.com. This position will be the lead architect for that effort. The candidate will need to be extensively experienced in all facets of salesforce.com.

The job holder manages the planning, organizing and implementation of large complex strategic programs (highly visible initiatives crossing multiple disciplines, businesses, and/or organizations). S/he is responsible for the coordinated management of multiple related projects, and in many cases, ongoing operations which are directed toward a common objective. S/he works with constituent Project Managers (who are responsible to the Program Manager for the execution of their project and its impact on the program) to monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations, while working to ensure the ultimate success of the program. S/he is responsible for determining and coordinating the sharing of resources among their constituent projects to the overall benefit of the program. S/he is responsible for stakeholder management particularly stakeholders external to the organization. S/he facilitates Steering Committee and regular program team status meetings and all other communications. All team members within the program take direction from the Program Manager for the duration of the project. The Program Manager is accountable for the overall management and delivery of the program on behalf of business, operations and IT.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 11 to 15 years related experience required. 
  • Job holder must have extensive experience with managing client expectations and communicating effectively with senior management and executive management. 
  • Prior experience managing strategic and/or cross-organizational projects and planning and tracking multiple complex projects or programs required. 
  • Must have experience coordinating work across multiple disciplines or organizations and be adept at building consensus across organizational and functional lines. 
  • Master level experience and understanding of system development methodologies. 
  • Experience managing vendors and contracts as components of a program. Advanced degree preferred. 
  • Project Management Institute Project Management Certification (PMP) and Program Management Professional (PgMP ) preferred.
